
PacInet is the annual Information Communication Technology (ICT) conference which focuses on ICT developments and issues within the Pacific Region. This year the Samoa IT Society is proud to host this annual event.
PacInet 2006 is the 5th conference of its kind hosted after Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu and Kiribati, and this year’s conference will feature topics which include Internet, E-Pacific, E-Health, Voice over IP (VOIP), GIS (Geographical Information System), Network and Systems, and so forth.
We are pleased to announce that
Dr Vint Cerf, who is widely regarded as the “father of the Internet” through his founding work with Internet Protocols, will be the keynote speaker at this year PacInet Conference. Dr Cerf remains one of the World’s Leading International Speakers on ICT and Internet. Dr Cerf has a specially affinity for the Pacific Nations and has used his many international speaking opportunities to raise awareness of our Pacific issues including global warming and the effect of this on Small Pacific Islands. Dr Cerf is the chief evangelist for Google Inc, the world’s largest internet search company. He is also the Chairman of ICANN and US Presidential Advisor.
